My GPS has always been mounted on the left handlebar of the KTM 950
I decided to move it to the top dash, however the vibration was such that I could not read the display. I gave up for a while and then picked up an idea from the ADV rider site

The idea is to stabilize the top dash by securing it to the frame or the cockpit mount somehow

I found a piece of metal, doubled it up with a second, and bent the two to a sort of a  â??Vâ? shape

This is then bolted to the RAM mount on top and to the cockpit mount in front

The KTM 950 has two auxiliaries. I took one to the new HELLA plug I mounted on the dash â?? as a power supply to the GPS.

The fuse was placed in an accessible place

... and the GPS mounted

It works quite well. Although there is still some vibration, it is negligible on tar and not too bad on the dirt.
One thing thats needs to be looked at - on very rough dirt, the GPS tends to shift down, even with the RAM mount VERY tight.
I'm thinking of providing a simple support below, which should have two results:
a. Reduce vibration more
b. Prevent the unit from tilting down

Overall though - a success
