Hi all
I have an Excel rim on the front of my 800 Adventure that is suffering a slight case of not-quite-round. Very little, but quite noticeable at specific speeds – like riding a kangaroo.
I strapped it up on the centre stand and spinned the wheel watching it carefully. The tyre is seated properly (I hoped it was just that) and everything around the hub/axle runs true. Donford also checked out the bearings (all good) when the bike was there last week for the side stand switch recall. The rim is definitely the problem. We're talking a few millimeters.
Can this be fixed or will it mean buying a new rim? Where in Cape Town do I take it for help? How long will the bike be out of commission?
Thanks
