I got home safely last night, albeit a bit stiff and sore. Much better this morning. I have a list of very heartfelt thank you's:
* All those who organised: how the hell you managed it only you'll know, but the way the organised chaos just worked was impressive! Thanks, I'll be there again next year!
* Li for patching me up with loads of TLC, and offer a dry and comfy bed in their chalet. Thx to Jules, P-Pete and Ray for not objecting.
* Thanks to Brink for the brandwurm, but Perta's Synap-Forte actually worked better!
Thx, Petra!
* Thx BoerSchoeman and HVDM for coming out to pick my KLR up. With the front wheel not turning, we needed some strength to get it onto a trailer (and I was feeling a bit weak!). It was so re-assuring to "phone a friend" and get an immediate helpful response!
* Thanks to JohnST and Simone (sp?) for the "Rocky" ride to the water tunnels! And the lift to Clarens for the best cheese and garlic burger.
* Thx to Dion (Would I) and Carla (Fire Cracker) for organising a lift home - good luck with all that unpacking, you guys must have been paste last night!
* Thx to HVDM for trailering my bike back! Owe you one!
* Thanks to all the other dawgs who commiserated and exuded sympathy. Believe me, it helps!
* Lastly, thx to Ganjora for making it an exhilarating and interesting ride down to the Bash! It was, until the point of impact, the best ride I've ever had, beautiful scenery, easy to hectic riding, good company, just fantastically lekker "out there". But you've left me with a bit of a Zen poser: I realise there is truth in the saying, I also realise (and demonstrated physically) that the saying requires some interpretation, so my quest for the next few weeks, months, years(?) will be to unravel the true meaning of: "speed is your friend"! ;D
