For some unexplained reason I have caught the rebuild disease.
From a small itch caused by watching you various masters at work in this little corner of the forum, to a full blown fever that has caused me to think of little else.
I don't have the time, I don't have the skills and I don't have the tools, but this fever has corrupted all logic.
This lack of logic has also caused me to make the most illogical choice of bike to start with. To my mind this has always been the ugliest, heaviest and most unwieldy machine. It can hardly be called a motorbike, it's more a small car. I have never liked them, never ridden one and only seen old people on them.
The only saving grace of this bike is the motor. It is big and torquey and unusual. I am hoping that I can strip the bodywork and reveal a bit of this inner beauty, and somehow transform this 'F(at) and Ugly' bitch into a svelte babe, with a big rack!
Ladies and Gents, I present to you my 1980 Honda GL1100 Goldwing......
