Gearbox and final drve oil, and levels of such.

I see the manual calls for a GL5 spec gear-oil for the gearbox and final drive.

I have a fully synthetic GL4 spec 60-85W gear oil I use on the race cars.

Will this be ok to use on the 1150GS?

Also, I notice that the manual states that the final drive level is at the bottom of the thread for the filler cap when the bike is level.
But where is the fill mark for the gearbox? My manual states only the amount of oil in the box. Would it be like a car filled to the bottom of the filler hole?
