Getting a tubeless tyre to seat on the rim

I there a trick to getting a tubeless tyre back onto the rim? I have sukkelled for ages to get the front tyre of my strom back in place. The one bead is sitting in the middle of the rim, and I can't get it into a position where it forms enough of a seal for the air to lift it into place. Any advice?
