Could you tell us more about your steed.....I'm not sure I've ever heard of this make or model?

Thanks! Yeah Zontes is pretty new to SA.. I think only 2 years or so. Although they are quite big in the UK if I'm not mistaken. It's a Chinese built bike, in my opinion very well built... not that my opinion counts for much as I haven't ever been on anything bigger than a 125, haha. But still, it made this trip which counts for something!

The Jan 2018 edition of Bike SA magazine actually has a review of the 250.

Cool.  Keep enjoying your bike.  :thumleft:

Nice RR,I must complement you on the total trust you put into a Chinese-Indian or whatever moped..a lot would say 'nie met dai stuk kak nie"

Or at least that is what I said..But nice to be proven wrong every now and then..

Good luck..Next time pop some wheelies. :laughing4: O0 :imaposer:

That's the spirit. Well written.
Hope you do many more tours.

Respect to you oke, and this is from an old Ballie  who did his first trip from Johburg to the Transkei on a Yammi 175 scrambler in 1973!

Now you must plan a trip to Namibia and Angola ( imagine doing the Doodsakker on a little red zontes!?! What do you think, Xpat, Max the Panda, Metal Jockey...?)

Lekke RR!  Well done! It shows that adventure is what YOU make of it[emoji1360]

Fantastic ride report young man!  Well done and some good skill with the pen too  :) :)  Reminds me of a book I read a short while ago by Nathan Millward (https://www.nathanmillward.com/shop)  called 'The Long Ride Home' where he rides a Honda CT110 scooter from Sydney to London....I like the afrikaans word for 'adventure bike' which I think is so much more appropriate....storiefiets.... :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:  Thanks for the RR, really enjoyed reading it....

Saw a little red Zontes in the parking area and wondered - haven't seen many of these around. Then ran into the owner in the lift the other day - quite surprised at my friendly greeting, and we stood chatting bikes in the hallway for a looong time... as bikers will  ::)

Thanks a mil!

Where can I get that book? Sounds awesome!

Best place to pick up the book is on Kindle or directly off his website if you like turning pages - he's also got quite a few youtube videos from the trip - search for 'Sydney to London on a Postie'......enjoy :)

750km in 'n dag??

Very well written and your enthusiasm is clearly sensed ! Happy and safe riding. Keep your trip reports coming !

Nou lekker gelees. Ek het so iemand in my lewe gekry. Kyk uit vir ons storie. Wat hopenlik so leka soos joune sal lees
