I have to start off by saying that I did not think the Great Basin Bag would work on the Xchallenge as the exhaust is high and exposed but after fitting it at the bash and Altus's assurance that the bag would not melt I bought them off him on Sunday morning and promptly stuffed all my kit into it, and took a leisurely meandering 300km trip back to Kimberley, the route was corrugated with patches of sand and powdery white dusts.
I stopped a couple of times on route just to check and smell if something was not burning, but Altus's confidence in his product was not unfounded.
The bag really travels well you hardly notice it and it is much les restrictive than the backpack I was using previously.
It was also completely dustproof even the powdery white dust did not penetrate.
