Just a quick thank you to a few dogs who cared enough to drop everything after 22:00 on Saturday evening to help a downed rider.
After sudden loss of pressure in the front tyre on the tar between Riversdale and Ladismith Frans fell and we were stuck in the dark not knowing if either rider or bike is really OK even if we fixed the tyre.
A quick call to Veldbrand and help was on it's way. We arrived at Koedoeskloof just after 00:05 Sunday morning. In daylight on Sunday we could see that the damage to the AT was mostly cosmetic and after some quick repairs it was good to go. Frans felt no worse than the previous night and we decided to ride back to CT after a tasty breakfast served by Veldbrand and Debi.
Thank you Veldbrand, you did not even hesitate when I called and immediately offered to bring a trailer. Even offered to go make us dinner when we arrived at Koedoeskloof after midnight.
Thank you Kaboef who rode on the back of the pick-up to help load and support and also for the loan of the new tube on Sunday morning.
Thank you oo7 who let us use his compressor and CO2 canisters after we ran out.
Even the other guests at Koedoeskloof helped. Sarel provided and drove the recovery truck and PietaS offered the use of his tools so we could strip the AT and panelbeat the bent bits. Thank you gents!
We rode home and arrived safely in Durbanville yesterday, what a weekend!
PS: RR will follow when I have a bit of time.
