Karoo and Northern Cape is my favourite riding places but even though I felt the energy of all the space around and nothing for few kl either way, I've never really felt I was really remote, never.
If something happens, its either sit and wait for help or walk to possible close farm (or that's the feeling I have). Even in the lesser area's of eastern namibia, it all feels comfortable somehow.
If I were to ride in another country with similiar population density as the Northern cape or namibia, is it the unknown that contributes to the feeling of remoteness?
