This is so simple to do... dunno why the factory did not do it! >:D

Basically all you need do is splice a wire on the orange one on the indicator unit/relay, then put that on a toggle switch, and then from the switch feed two wires, one to the green wire on the L/H indicator, one to the grey wire on the R/H indicator. A simple soldered splice on all connections should suffice, just tape up well afterwards.
Will post the actual pics of my slice and splice later.
The switch I used wasa DPDT toggle, I wired the common terminals to the orange, the one ON went to the left and the other to the green wires as shown in the second diagram.
The wires to the indicators are accessable behind the instrument cluster as well as the indicator relay... makes the job easy and quick.
In technical terms I fitted the DPDT switch in parallel with the existing indicator switch, instead of selecting R or L as the indicator switch does I feed both sides at once. The only thing that will not work is the instrument panel lamp when the Hazards work as it is in effect not grounded anymore. To make that work you need to do the Neutral lamp mod... a thread on it's own! ;D
