To hire a cottage at the top of Aurora Mountain , you have to book(https://www.mountainmist.co.za/Accommodation.htm) with that RUDE Woman( Anne) that drove her bakkie in front of Steven B to stop you all from driving up the mountain road.

OR it seems , the land has been sold and now belongs to these people.

https://finebushpeople.co.za/danielshoogte_private_reserve.html

The Radar station is a South African Airforce Radar Station ,

That would be the Kapteinskop radar station near Aurora and is linked to Langebaanweg.

So she has no right blocking us from ridding up the road !

I did some research on the Aurora Mountain.
The farm changed ownership in 2012 after lying empty and derelict for 4 years.
Accommodation wil be available in chalets and a bushman cave, camping. Accessible by sedan car.
The road is a through-road maintained by the military running through private land, so please respect this and get permission first.
It is well worth the effort.

Thank you to Andy and all the riders. Yet another great outing in the Sandveld. Unfortunately my building operations forced me to shorten my day.

.Thanks Andy660 ,Gavin and Yamaha Helderberg for a well planned awesome ride .

After The Koringberg Two Spoor , we headed west out of Koringberg and a right takes you down to the cement water Drift , that all the bikes are parked on in some of the pics.

Cenent Bridge with Steven B facing

From the bridge up a very sandy road , that requires a 'Stand Up and Open Up Approach' , oh and if you arent consentration when I give you some causions , you go straight into the farmers yard , instead of taking the LH Fork. lol

We then hit the Velddrift tar road and with a quick LH and RH , you are on the way to Aurora.
did find a dirt road to Aurora , but as its only a day  ride , I opted for the tar road to try and keep the returning home trim in the daylight.

Well all went well  up the Kapteinskloof Mountain .KTM Kev , Adventure Hunder and my self , stpped at the end of the road to take in the breath taking views.
When this 'person' comes up the road in a white bakkie , she climbs out the bakkie shouting and cussing about private property , road closed and everything , but forgets to mension that the road up the mountain is in fact SOUTH AFRICAN AIRFORCE Radar Station access road , we were not off it and only were only going up for the view,

I have met and spoken to here prteviously, I had even organized a ride up there to have her make lunch for 10 of us which she then canselled the day before the time,
I had later learnt from some other bikers that had stayed with here in her house, that she enjoys a joint or 3 out of a box , Table in themiddle of the lounge , and even grows the shit up in the mountains,

So I chose to nothing in reply to her rant , but Adventure Hunter says , OK MOM ! Boy , I AM NOT YOUR F------g Mom and bla bla bla----------,
I just ignored her , carried on taking pics and left her to ADV Hunter and Kev, we went back down the mountain and found out she had pulled her bakkie out of her  driveway in front of Steven B  who was coming up the road.
There was a frencman with here who was happy to let the bikes by to go and see the view , but she was adamant and said no !Tazer next to her in the bakkie and all , I was told.

Anyway , after some googling I see the land all belongs to new owners since 2012 and can be booked for sleep overs,
I think we should book and pay them and go back on our bikes, it is awesome up on the mountain , very remote.

https://finebushpeople.co.za/danielshoogte_private_reserve.html

Here Johan , who took a walk through part of the road up the mountain , that has been cut out of the rock.

Regarding the issues with Anne, I have posted an explanation here: https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=139390.msg2693583#msg2693583.  In summary, there are 4 properties on the mountain, of which the biggest by far is what has been mentioned as having changed ownership and offers a cave and cottages.  The smallest is Mountain Mist with an unpleasant owner.  The other two are a national heritage site (gyssekraal), and our property (Fijnbosch Farme).
