HELP â?? Selling a bike/car privately if it is still under Finance?

Since I had the privilege of riding a F800GS for a Saturday afternoon and the whole of Sunday last week (see Leoâ??s Rooiberg Ride Report), I now want one.

So, I am thinking of putting my trusted F650GS up for sale. But I first need to find out what is the procedure that I must take selling it privately, if the bike is still under finance.

When the buyer pays me for the bike, he would obviously want the registration papers, but I would need to settle the bank first before I can get the papers from the bank.

So what is the correct way of doing this?
