Lots of photos for the nature and water lovers.
Saturday arrived and what perfect weather for a small outride. The dirt roads around us are still rain damaged and muddy as hell, so being a lazy person I di not want to dirty my bike unnecessary and decided a bit of a tar trip was in order with a small amount of dirt.
Destination Kat river dam. Well we finally arrived after an uneventful ride and were met with a locked gate and unmanned station which is becoming a norm in our municipal resorts and recreational areas, so we just opened and went through the pedestrian gate.
The area looks well maintained until you look closely at the ablution blocks and buildings in the area, they have been stripped bare, even the winch in the boat house is gone. Same as Van Der Kloof.
This recreational area has the potential to become a great weekend break away for anlers,boaters and hikers but alas it means work and that is something that scares away our people that want to earn an income and do nothing for it. It would be a great community project to help those who need work and make a little income. ???
