For a long time I have been off a bike but will shortly start commuting with one again, but would need you opinions please.
The daily route will be around 75km one way, with around 5km of that gravel, around 8km town driving and the rest highway. For this reason I think a 1220GS will be a good fit in terms of highway and gravel capability. The price I can afford at this stage will however force me to look at bike with odo reading of anywhere between 75,000km and 125,000km.
What is your take on this? If the bike was properly maintained do I still need to be weary of the relatively high mileage or should I steer clear?
I am quite capable of doing maintenance myself but will I be setting myself up for some catastrophic failure since I will probably cover around 30,000km a year on a fairly old vehicle?
