It will take some very special riding and people to better what we have experienced in the last two weeks.
Northern Namibia is hard but spectacular. The days was long and hot. The beauty of the place I cannot describe but most special to me is the friends I have made.
Despite this being a competition there is a very special bond between the 20 competitors. This morning I woke up and I miss them all. I miss making coffee, packing, getting on the bike and heading off into the unknown, and eating dust all day.
There is enough photos between the 20 of us to keep the forum alive for a long time. I'll start posting and writing later.
This was life changing for me and definitely made me a better person (in my eyes at least). I learned more in 2 weeks than in my previous 15 years of riding.
If anyone had any doubt regarding the capabilities of these big bikes it should not exist anymore. 20 bikes, 2600km and not one single mechanical issue.
Hate to admit is but Dan was right about Japanese reliability. Other manufacturers have some serious things to ponder and work on.
To my teammate - Minxy you are an absolute rockstar. I have said it before and will say it again. In time it will be forgotten that I was your teammate at Quest, but history will not forget you - you are destined for bigger things. Keep working hard as you do and keep living the dream.
To be continued
