I live in Cape Town (Noordhoek) and am rapidly approaching 40. I have decided as a happy birthday gift "from me to me" to buy an offroad bike and carve out the time to have some fun with it. Yes is stinks of mid-life crisis but hey..... I'm embracing it!
I know close to nothing about bikes and my riding experience is pretty much the same. A good friend of mine (and member here) suggested a check out this forum so here I am.
If I may, I will be canvassing your collective opinions on suitable bikes, suggestions on good places to ride (both while I'm finding my feet and as I get more capable), necessary info that is probably second nature to many of you and I hope to find some like minded okes to go for a burn with every now and then in and around Cape Town and surrounds.
