The HP2 started idling funny.

1. It would either stall when idling, especially when pulling in the clutch when stopping.
2. It would idle quite fast, all by itself.
3. It would "blip" its throttle - all by itself?

After two sessions at BMW, latest software downloads, synchronising of this and that, the problems seems to be.... the fact that the previous owner fitted an under-strength battery. The HP's OE one is 12amp/hour, but this one is 11 amp/hour.

We now think that the electronics want the bike to idle slower (to save juice), but then the fuel injection says: "Nooit, China!" and than makes the revs climb to make the engine happy.

So R1500 later for the new battery I'm holding thumbs. That is in addition to the R1600 for new steering head bearings, R1000 for new Metzeler Karoo (T) and R1600 for its 20 000 km service. Ah well, at least all this bending over is good for my hamstrings' flexibility...  ::)

Any thoughts on the idling/battery issue - preferably from non-KLR owners, as the HP2 is a modern motorcycle  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
