Hmmm, Garmin is finally starting to become attractive...

Basically with some of the newer garmins you can load raster (picture) data, i.e I could now load the 1:50 000 and 1:250 000 and google imagery onto a gps, which is super handy if you are playing far off the beaten tracks.
