I am not sure if anyone has posted this question before, so here it is. In your oppinion (and give a reason as well) what bike/s have changed the way motorbikes have been made or perceived by the public. I am not looking for examples of really good bikes (as there are many), but rather a particular model that has fundamentally changed the whole industry.
For me 2 bikes stand out -
The first 4 cylinder Honda 750 as this introduced the 4 cylinder bike to the public at large and was the final nail in the British bike industry's coffin.
The second the Honda CB1100R, as this was the start of the modern superbike, a full racer (with factory fitted fairing)available through the dealer network to the public.
I guess this debate will be as conclusive as the BMW/KTM one but will nevertheless be interesting.
