My son and daughter have been living in Indonesia for the past year. The main attraction being a low crime rate and no aggro or violence.
Well my daughter had an unpleasant experience that cleared those rose tinted glasses.
Returning home on her scooter at night on a fast section of highway, she is overtaken by two hoods on a bike that snatch her handbag from around her neck.
Although she is traveling at about 80 the force pulls her over the handle bars, thank God she is wearing a helmet but unfortunately no other protective gear.
Its hard to believe that there are people out there who can do this to a young girl and basically leave her for dead (unconscious)on the side of the road.
The scars will heal but I don't believe she will ever ride a bike with the same sense of freedom again.
