Very brave of her to venture into those Muslim countries alone as a woman. I guess they're a bit more open towards Western tourists these days, but still. I've been to Jordan about two years ago on a work trip, and although the people are very friendly, you always have this feeling that you don't want to mess with their security or police. Obviously no alcohol served at any restaurants, women were covered up in burqa's or at least hijab's.

I recall how our taxi was inspected each time for explosives when we arrived at the hotel. Also our driver had to obtain a police permit in order to transport us as foreigners, etc. At the airport they were extremely strict, inspecting at length the magnets on the fridge magnets I bought, taking away aftershave, etc. You almost feel like a criminal!

Lois Price did it first many years earlier already (I cant remember the year but think early 2000’s)
She was one of the first ladies to do the Americas from Alaska down the Argentina through Central America and she also done West Africa from England to Cape town.
I read all het books.
She did it a bit different like Kinga and the ‘when in Rome’ jumps to mind. She used a subtle head covering when not on the bike to respect local culture

Lois Price also inspired me to start venture on dirt after I started out being a road biker since the late 80’s

I think Itchy boots is also inspirational to travel and see the world different to the picture the media paints.

Respect to these lone riders sharing their adventures with us.
