Ja, it struck me what sh1t-holes they actually are. Big extravagant looking buildings and that's about it. All around them it looks like sh1t. Doesn't say much about their standards.

Thankfully she caters for all. I prefer her ‘real time’ border crossing because that shows the complexity of world travel. It reminds mr of ‘Red tape and white knuckles’ by Lois Pryce.
Some have this illusion that ‘world travel by motorcycle’ is very romantic. This gives us the real deal.

Love travelling but border crossings take the fun out of it. On 2023 we travelled East Africa and ended up doing 13 border crossings. They try to make it as frustrating as possible so you will hire an agent. You have to pay him and that money oils all the hands there. Takes hours for two stamps and to pay the taxes.

I just can't see her travelling these volatile regions and getting through unscathed, but maybe that is the pessimist in me.
Whatever possessed her, a single, blonde, blue-eyed girl to travel through historically (and maybe not too historical) dangerous zones like Iran/Iraq? I cant help feeling for her safety every time she is mobbed by a bunch of these men. I do have a rather ingrained dislike of this group of people and view them all as radical fanatics.
Bravado and stupidity are one and the same.

Must say, the Iran Guys seem VERY friendly towards her?
Not only her "hosts" (accommodation and food etc) but even the Border Guys?
She does have a VERY positive and friendly and respectful attitude towards them, too

They do seem overly friendly I think. How many of the men have asked how old she was. An "unusual" question to someone you don't know.
I think she is taking unnecessary chances going there. Surely there are other beautiful places to visit with a motorcycle.
