Has anyone travelled JNB-Bethlehem recently? I believe the roads are a bit
shyte around there, but also that there have been some improvements recently
. Some people suggest via Warden, others say via Heilbron ok. We are not in a rush, just want to enjoy my first road trip on the new bike.
Lastminutedotcom booking availability puts us in Ebenhaezer 5km along S217 for the long weekend coming up (Bethlehem to R217 potholed). I figured on map we could pop through to Clarens via S217 for the Golden Gate twisty roads…. but have now been told by accomm the S217 road only suitable for high clearance vehicles and my Tiger 800 is a low version (as I’m bloody short) so now will have to travel back up to Bethlehem and down to Clarens #badplanning…
More interested in safe enjoyable route JNB-Bethlehem.
