That is just about the finest testament to team work I've heard; To the get to the point of insisting open and utter criticism in service of the team is very rare.
Bravo!
Thx for the comment Kamanya,
I can just as well elaborate on what happened and how we resolved our issues.
JP Boer is 29
Morne is 25
Ruhan is 49
So we all have our own views and opinions and obviously ego's
So we had a video session on Tuesday.
we discussed what we did not like about each other and got everything on the table. Was not a very comfortable conversation but we stuck to it and found a middle ground for everyone.
Then one big aspect that caused these issues was that we did not know our way on, around the bike as A TEAM.
So a method was discussed on a different method on how we will stop, how we will ride and so on.
So we decided to do the next:
Jp will lead on the bikes, myself in the middle and Morne at the back.
When we stop somewhere it will be left to right in the above way.
Handle bars to the left with Helmets on the right with gloves inside the helmet.
Was also agreed to keep the helmets on as much as possible.
There is a think that we call Marshall intimidation. Just subtle pushes and suggestions and being ready before the marshall will put pressure on him/them and that has proven to be a proven recipe in the past.
When we were on the trophy because of the background of the SA in the Trophy we always suggested to ride at the back so to assist the Marshalls from the back with inexperienced riders and so on.
This worked a treat, earned the respect of the Marshalls and placed us in favourable positions wrt our Marshalls.
So did we work as a team on the trophy event itself??
Hell yes!!
We manned up, put our ego's aside and made it work!!
