In my other life I run West Coast Personnel, a recruitment agency in Table View, Cape Town.

Our client in the greater Blaauwberg area in Cape Town is looking for a Junior Motorcycle Suspension Technician to join their team of bike suspension experts. This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest or background in motorcycle suspension systems or hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn and passionate about enhancing performance through high-quality service.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading suspension components for a variety of motorcycle makes and models.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair motorcycle suspension systems, including forks, shocks, and linkages.
  • Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and upgrades on suspension components.
  • Work closely with the service team to assess and recommend suspension solutions to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in motorcycle suspension.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build long-lasting relationships with clients.
Qualifications:

  • Technical school diploma, tertiary education, or equivalent; a technical certification in motorcycle mechanics or a related field (e.g., hydraulics, mechanics) is preferred.
  • Experience as a suspension technician or in a similar role within the motorcycle industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of motorcycle suspension systems, technical terms, components, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Passion for motorcycles and a commitment to delivering top-notch service.
  • Motorcycle license or driver's license required.
  • Non-smoker.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and explore different areas of the business if required.
  • Comfortable interacting with customers and addressing their needs.
  • A technical grounding in mechanics or mathematics is essential.
Salary: R10,000.00 per month.
