I haven't too much to add as both Zonkelnut and Krazy-Eyes has posted some very good pic's but I have a few which I feel show some of the feelings, route and scenery.
The vastness of the wide open spaces.
The wildlife living in the barren place.
A Spaza shop between Orepembe and Opuwa, with plenty of locals hanging around waiting to get their hands on some tourists spare cash for food, beer and tobacco.
Our Himba partner in crime, Zonkelnut who could smellHimba for many days without seeing them.
Beemers above the falls with the next days road visible on the top right corner.
Zonkelnut, Krazy-Eyes and myself cooling down in the Kunene just above the falls.
Baobab trees which grow in some very funny places, litter the rock walls of Epupa Falls.
Richard (my brother coming down 1 of the many hills which have large loose rocks, rutts from soil errosion. This is a short series of 4 which should give you an indication of the angle coming down. The camera never give you a true lay of the land.
Hot and tired riders sit under a small tree while being looked on but a local who's kids ran away as soon as the bikes started screeming.
Picture of the GPS trip computer showing all statistic of the route between Epupa Falls and Kunene River Lodge. (Sorry for the bad quality pic but the data is readable)
Another Spaza shop in Ondangwa where people are friendly, welcoming you to drink a beers without any hassels. The people in Namibia are very friendly and hospitable. Zonkelnut and myself sitting in the shade drinking a quart of TAFEL Lager.
Airfilters take major strain on these bad roads, dust being trown up from vehicles in front of you, passing vehicles and also the dreaded poop sand which was mentioned. You can see the filter blocked and what was knocked of on the ground. I would suggest that during a trip like this, you clean your filter at least once as it could save your engine and you fuel bill a bit. Most we could get from the beemer was 140 km/h with the filter like this. Once most of the dist was removed we could get 200 km/h plus.
A tusker next to the road between Kasane and Nata, happy for people to take photos which we did. You see Richard being very brave, me right by my bike in case he turned aggressive.
This last picture is of a very, very long and boring and sometimes catching you out with lots of very loose sand and small stones. This goes on for about 400 km and is not something I would like to do in a hurry or ever again.
And a lost note just to say thank you to Zonkelnut, Richard, Krazy-Eyes (Kobus) for an enjoyable ride, lots of fun was had, many kilometers (5500km) ridden without any major incidents and I am sure that this will be the first of many such trips.
