I recently bought a KLR 2008. I have a 2005 or 2006 model and I hardly ever checked the oil. Unfortunately for me, I did the same with the new bike and rode it without any oil. Serious damage. The bike shop in Centurion quoted me R18 000 with the cylinder head R7036, exhaust cam R2657 and 10 hours labour R2850 the more expensive items on the quote.
Any suggestions what I should do? A friend suggested taking the bike to Dr KLR for a quote. Unfortunately, I know nothing of what goes on in an engine and I will have to get somebody to do the job for me.
