KLR 650 standard exhaust mod

Hi Guys

I have seen this mod on the stock KLR 650 exhaust. Apparently it gives it a bit more volume.

You basically drill the outlet hole to 54mm (the factory spark arrestor comes right out) and put a new tip on.

Has anybody attempted this and where can you get aftermarket exhaust tips locally? What are the pro's and con's of such a mod?
