KLR 650 Standard exhaust or Penta after-market

I have just taken delivery of a 2004 KLR which has been fitted with a Penta exhaust. They did, however, give me the original (in good condition) exhaust. I must admit, I am considering putting the original back as the noise from the Penta would give one a head-ache from hell on a long trip.

What are the benefits of the Penta as apposed to the original, excepting maybe to make more noise?
