KLR 650 vs BMW 650 GS

I need to decide on a bike to buy.

What is the difference between the following except price?

I want to make sure I will not get bored with the bike.

I want to do a lot of affroad, most of my friends have enduro bikes but aren't hard core enduro riders. the bike will be used for offroad riding and some commuting

It seems that I can either buy A new KLR 650 or second hand BMW 650 Gs
