Klr possible weight saving?

Just greased my rear shock linkages, bolts & needle bearings, is it just me or are those bolts damn heavy/solid. Anybody ever attepted to get them hollowed out on lathe, maby leave a 2-3mm wall thickness?
Apparently a hollow cylinder shape is just as strong as solid round?

Sorry guys, just bored but like to have my Klr as light as possible...
