Decided to change the oil, clean the air filter and adjust the doo on Saturday. After everything was done I started her up and immediately there was a knock knock noise at idle but at over 1700rpm or so it goes away. I thought that maybe the eagle doo or spring was broken and by loosening the bolt the balancer chain got too much slack. I checked the oil level again and it looked like there was too much oil in. I drained about 350ml out to get it exactly at top of the sight glass. Started her up again and the knock knock was gone. Is the KLR that sensitive to too much oil? What can break if overfilled with oil?
