OK, first off, this is my first post, so please, be gentle.
On to business. I'm currently looking at getting a dual-sport mc. I've had a long hard look at what is available and the last two left is the XT660 and the KLR650.
Now I want to know, which is the better choice. I'm really into doing the long-distance thing and would like a bike that can handle the dirt quite well.
The XT's styling is a bit quirky and the KLR is just plain old tech. I also get the idea that the KLR is a bit more robust and better suited for touring with a whole load of baggage.
OK, let me know what you think. Also, please give running cost comparisons if possible.
