My wife is going to the EC Bash on her F650GS which takes a 100/90 -19 front tyre. There is a Trailwing on there now. I wanted to fit a knobbly tyre like the Kings that I have on my Dakar. I am drawing a blank trying to find anything. I may be able to get a Maxxis but have been told they are awful on wet tar. We will be riding a lot of tar to get there so I have not persued that option.
What I can get is a Metzler Karoo 110/80 - 19 which goes on the 1200GS front for R958. I must be able to get TKC 80 also but they are way expensive. I have not checked the rim widths but I would think this slightly larger tyre would work fine. What cheaper knobblies are available for the 1200GS? I have spoken to Trac-Mac Waterkant & Bellville, Craigs Parow, Linex Yamaha, Bikestuff & Atlantic Motorrad.
