At lunch after our ride up the valley to Albert Falls last Saturday we were chatting about nice viewing places and Ngilanyoni was on my "favourites" list.

I think it's time to visit again, and my new HD helmet cam has not been there - not that I need an excuse.
And checking my route library there are a few roads on the North side of Mkomazi river I have never ridden - time to fill in the gaps. The roads look easy enough in mapSource and GoogeEarth.
MadDog is back from his ramblings on a Royal Enfield in India, and he has a permanent day pass on Saturdays as his SWAMBO works, so I gave him a call, and he is keen to explore a bit.
So tentative plan is:-
Meet Pinetown - NPN Auto Cent - St John's Road - To leave at 07:30
Out via Intake road, Past Nungwane Dam and out to Ngilanyoni
Down into Mkomazi valley. Down the strip between Mkomazi and Lovu rivers to Umkomaas for brunch.
135Km Pinetown to Umkomaas - 90% Gravel.
easy - "Gunda speed" - Almost newbie friendly - bit of open field riding at Ngilanyoni.
Expect to be at Umkomaas about 11:00 - 13:00
