13 of us just spend the last 3 days riding up in the Maluti Mountans.
When you haven't been here you forget just how tough this riding can be.
Here are some pics taken along the routes we rode - Black Neck, Slide Your Arse, Ribaneng, Baboons and the Bridal paths on the way to Semonkong.

Awesome riding terrain

You are riding up this mother of a pass called "Slide Your Arse" [called after its tight switchbacks] and what do you find
Two guys got over by themselves, but it really stuffs up your bikes. The rest, we just lifted them over
The falls, just outside the Semongkong Lodge, our Saterday night stopover
On Sunday morning it bucketed down. Here is some of us caught up at 3000m on the Bridal paths. Its freezing, probably around 5 deg C. From here it just got worse. Black mud, torrential rain turning the paths into little streams. Thunder, lightning and dense mist also added to the admosphere. Fortunately we were following gps tracks so we didnt get lost.
The final refuel at Ramabanta
Biggest incident of the weekend was one of the chase vehicles, a Range rover Vogue getting stuck in a river. He eventually extricated himself at about 11pm on Friday night. The riders showed their concern by having a beer at the Malayalaya Lodge on his behalf
