Dankie dat jy ons op hoogte hou met al die mooi prentjies Schalk. Daai Noorweërs hou van rooi verf, lyk dit my. Lekker ry!
Ja die rooi help om dit warmder te laat lyk as die sneeu wit lê. Sal weer update.

The Following day Samuel and I left for the Lofoten area to a town called Sorvagen. It is a long piece of land that run from the main land into the sea. From Bjerkvok to Sorvagen it is 330 km. My plan was to take a ferry back to the main land again to Bodo. This stretch of land is beautiful and a must see for anybody who goes to Norway. It then forms a fiord of more than the 330 km and is part of the Norwegian Sea.

Arriving in Sorvagen Samuel decided to stay over and do some camping. We met up with a German couple at a shopping center and Samuel and they decided to go and do some hiking in the mountains and I decided to go and catch the ferry to Bodo. We said our goodbyes and I must say his company for the last couple of days was pleasant. Another friendship made and I always keep contact with people I meet along the way like this for the rest of my life.

At the harbor I paid for my ticket and got in the queue. When we were allowed to board I rode on and thick robes were provided to tie the bike down. I met some other bikers who were also going to Bodo. After tying the bike down I went to sit upstairs in the lounge with a beautiful view over the sea. The other motorcyclist came to sit at my table and I managed to sell them my book “Living The Dream Through Africa”

The trip across to Bodo was pleasant with lots of hot chocolate and chatting to the two biker from Bodo. We arrived 12 o’clock in the middle of the night although this far South it does not get dark this time of the year. At Nord Cap you might still see the midnight sun but I am now 1000 km away. All the accommodation places are closed now and it has been a long day. I started traveling South with the idea to wild camp somewhere. Then I saw all the bus stops along the way but they all had concrete floors. Checking each one I eventually found one with a timber floor but the slats were spaced. Beggars cannot be choosers. I took my sleeping bag out and laid it on the floor with the bike right in front of the bus stop opening. There were road work outside and the vehicles will pass by within one meter of the bus stop. After lying down I fell a draft coming through between the slats. I tried my best to sleep. At 5 am the traffic started to build up and I got up with a sore throat. I tied down my sleeping bag started to bike and hit the road going South

On one bend at a lookout point I stopped and two young girls were sitting on the edge of the tar. Their shoes and socks were lying close to their bicycles. They are traveling from Nord Cap to Germany wild camping along the way. Their trip is more than 3000 km long, wow these people amaze me.

Beautiful fiords
