The last time I was at Lohatla was in 1986 ( old SADF) , and have always thought of returning one day with a DS bike and really enjoy the rugged beauty, open spaces, clear skies and isolation of the place at my own pace. Some recent RR's about Debrug seem to suggest these training grounds might be accessible to the general public, hence this post.
Does anyone have contacts within the SANDF that can help with info on accessibility of lohatla? Of course all other dogs welcome to join, and if there is enough interest we can do a mini bash. Plan is to go for atleast 6 days and just enjoying ourselves and spend as much time possible in the saddle. Somewhere in April/May before the cold sets in and the winds start and preferably when there are no training exercises taking place. As always, all comments, suggestions and especially donations welcome.
