Lower a 650 XCountry?

Have any of you lowered a 650 Xcountry? If so ,  what did you do and by how much was it lowered?
It seems to me that the relatively low weight makes it quite a good bike for a female rider.
If it can be lowered it would even be better.
What do you think?
