I can honestly not think of any force capable of just bending it by itself. Perhaps I am on the verge of learning something new...

This afternoon I trimmed the lever away from the handguard. With the bend it was touching again. I'm waiting to see if it will bend more

At least I know I'm not the only one who's experienced this

I wonder if there is perhaps thermal properties that with heat and cold cycles it deforms.
Have no actual idea why!

That type of heat should never be there, unless the levers are made of semi-hard cheese.

They must be seriously weak. So weak, I would replace with some aftermarket levers.

I, as you and many others, have ridden all sorts of bikes, through all sorts of circumstances and never experienced that.

If the handguard did it, they are too soft. If your hand did it, they are too soft. Replace.

What you are talking about is apparently called creep, IF I understand it correctly. I have been doing some research to find out why this happens. There is also a possibility that there is a separation of particles within the lever which causes it to lose shape. It apparently doesn't happen often, but what I have seen so far it is mostly with Yamaha bikes.

I am planning on replacing both clutch and brake levers, but I need to replace the whole thing for the clutch and brake. SYM levers are unfortunately one of a kind.

I've scrolled through my pics, on the 4th of May it was still straight. When I stopped for fuel at Brandfort on the wat to CT you can already see a slight bend.

I must check my CT videos, see if there's anything there
Have you watered it lately?
