Easiest way to see operating steam trains operating is to come out to Magaliesburg station next Saturday the 21st. Reef Steamers does a trip from Park Station to Magalies and the train stands in Magalies Station from about 11am to 2pm. There's a market as well selling food and knick knacks. More info here : https://www.facebook.com/Magaliesstation
Apparently next week they are going to have 2 steam locos on one train, should be interesting. While they are standing there you can get in the engine and have a look at all of the brassoed pressure gauges etc..
Directions : Go to Magaliesburg on the R24. Turn left and go past the Spar and Supakwik. Keep going straight until the road turns right and the entrance to the station is on your left. If you go straight on the little dirt road from here you will cross the railway tracks and can park in the market/picnic area.
