We are heading to Malawi in Jan 2024 for 2 weeks. We are flying in and need to hire a vehicle, SUV or Double Cab of sorts. It seems that the this industry is not so straight forward as one is used to here in SA.
3rd party insurance is included with the car hire, but any and all risk for damage to vehicle remains with us.
Comprehensive cover in Malawi is another story altogether. Exorbitant cost and does not really cover you as well as what you would think... only reduces your total risk by 20% - crazy.
Then you get online car-hire insurers, first I have heard of this? Anyone ever used these and more importantly have the cover been tested with an actual claim?
Any advice, tips would be greatly appreciated.
