One of the most indispensable additions to make a modern GPS really useful, is to load and use detailed maps as an integral part of the GPS.

Now, to have detailed maps of South Africa available on your GPS, it would appear that either Garmin's Mapsource or Tracks4Africa is the best choice.

However, exactly what are the pros and cons when the two suites are compared?  Things to take into account are among other:

Cost:  Tracks4Africa retails at present about R300 to R400 less than Mapsource.
Updating:   How regular are maps updates available, and at what costs?
Detail and accuracy: Any differences
Ease of use: During installation, updating, etc.
Extras:Any extras such as POI, street navigation, geo cashing provided?

Please be objective and to the point.  :mwink: While an answer like "Who needs a map when Captain Morgan is the navigator" may be very funny in certain circles, the purpose of this poll is to get answers and viewpoints that can be used objectively when someone needs to make the decision as to which software to load on his newly acquired state-of-the-art GPS :thumleft:
