The past month my rear brakes was binding slightly. First I took apart the caliper and cleaned everything. I normally do this on my annual service. There was no visible problems.
Then after a short ride, I realised the brakes is still binding.
Only thing that is left is the master brake cylinder. Took it apart and found the rusted circlip. As per this post: https://advrider.com/f/threads/rebuilding-the-brembo-11mm-rear-master-f650gs.855294/
Removed the circlip and foud the inside bore also rusted. So the plastic sleeve was binding on the piston. I order the repair kit from BMW and will finish the job later this week.
It is so easy to do this job. As part of the annual service I will now take apart, clean and grease the master cylinder to avoid future rebuilds. I already do it with the caliper.
