I've finally managed to put everything together, so here it is.
The meeting point was at Lanners Landing, Klapmuts. A full 110 bikes including a much discussed Vespa scooter.
The route for Saturday took us over Franschhoek pass, down Eerstehoop through the Van der Stel pass towards Bot River, and then tar all the way to Riviersonderend. From there we went past Protem all the way to Malgas, and back to the N1 at Swellendam to get to the overnight spot at Buffeljagsdam.
The old Eerstehoop general dealer
Some old buildings
View towards Hawston
Canola fields along the N2 to Riviersonderend
Along the road to Protem
A stream crossing the road
Where is da pont?
Objects in the rearview mirror
Buffeljagsdam
Everyone getting their spot
Oom Paul se scooter
Day 2 was a bit more adventourous, with a water crossing, another water crossing turned into railway riding, a mud hole, and then some nice gravel for the final strech.
The first water crossing
On my way through
Measuring the dept
View from the other side - taken by Cobus on the Zongshen 200 - one of 2 bikes to attempt the crossing
Aaah, there is a railway bridge
Following the tracks (and hoping there's no train today!)
Had to do it for a couple of hundred metres
The last to cross the mud hole, otherwise we would not be able to cross anymore!
Coffee in Robertson
End of the Scherpenheuwel road, we are heading towards Doornriver.
Lunch at Kelkiewyn in Villiersdorp
