Muden Loop

So at the last minute I decided to take a solo ride out to one of my favourite riding areas, the Muden/Weenen area.

Friday evening at 7.30 I thought it might be more fun if someone joined me, so I dida Planning a Ride post on the forum. Luckily TrevorWB saw the post so we arranged to meet the following morning.

Set off through the Karkloof, nothing exciting, just sticking to the main Karkloof road, Trevor me and Trevor's mate.

Soon we got to the track I had planned on exploring for the morning, some of it I had ridden before, but most of it new for all of us.

As you can see from the pictures, the countryside is flipping dry,desperately in need of rain.

We came across this dead giraffe in the bush, not sure if it had been poached or if the death was drought related.

Some awesome riding in this area.

As you can see lots and lots of rocks to work you over.

Some steep rocky climbs and descents. This one Trevor's mate had a few go's at but couldn't get his bike up the climb, so Trevor went to help.

Yes it's hellish dry in KZN at the moment and so far we've only had 1mm since the beginning of the month.
Last month (October), we ony had 30mm in total, whereas it normally is about 90 - 110mm..... we need rain desperately!

Ja the riding was absolutely awesome, miles and miles of rocky tracks through unspoiled bush, what more could one ask for

Hey Vislyp, I see you are also from Pmb, you are very welcome to come along

Will definitely be doing a few more rides like this before the end of the year, will give more notice in the ride planning section next time.
