MX Boots - How must it fit?

I am getting my first pair of mx-boots. I asked around and was told that you get them 1 size bigger than what you normally wear. Today I tried a no.9 (I wear a 8) And it is just to small.

How tight/loose must it fit?  (I tried Thor Quadrants)
