I'm looking at buying a new lid in the near future and really like the idea of a MX helmet:
1. Great for dust: goggles easy to clean and tearoffs really cheap
2. Cool in summer (though admittedly cold in winter)
3. Much less fogging up and zero wind in the eyes (wind and contact lenses are not good bed fellows!)
4. Peak and tinted goggles reduce glare
I'm concerned about their comfort for long distance touring though. Are full face lids much more comfy i.t.o. wind noise, buffeting etc?
How are the more "budget" MX helmets like the Vegas and HJCs?
Any wise words and advice from some wise old Dogs would be much appreciated! Thanks very much!
