Did your arms end up through those guards?? I have heard of those types of guards being responsible for wrist breaks

It didn't no. I hit the Kudu, just behind its front leg with the headlight still in mid air, so there was no where for the impact to disperse too but through my arms

:thumleft: Heal up fast

Bad luck bud. Heal up quick.

One story to safe for the Grand kids one day , good luck with healing up .

Jussie Ratt, laat jy gou sterk word.
As you so tactfully put it, I am the older gentleman on the 990. Thanks Ossie for sorting that   :thumleft:
keep us posted on the recovery!

Sterkte Boet. Moet se jy was nogal komieklik Saterdagaand toe jy so lekker dof gedope was  :lol8:

:sip: What a nice exiting trip you had, when MarkB and myself did the Baviaans on 28th of March I slowed down after going through a deep puddle to see how Mark is doing ( because he was riding a 660 baby ten) the next moment the Kudu cow (nogal) crossed the road in front of me. If I had not slowed down I would also have had an exiting trip like you.
I think its the same bitch of a kudu that you hit. :3some:

I have posted somewhere else but even more relevant on this thread.

Part of your first aid kit on a bike should always be - Wrist guards. Unfortunately I don't have any left to photograph as I always end up giving them away, and thankfully never had to use one for myself.

You get one for Left and one for right (I think there are interchangeable also available but not sure how they work, have not seen yet)

It gives enough support to a sprained or cracked wrist to sometimes ride home or to hospital at least and sometimes (if cracked and stable fracture) will recommend the use of the wrist guard and you go without the plaster of parris.

You okes should really consider especially if you ride a lot 'remote' places
